Can Healing Sessions Help with Muscle Tension, Headaches, and Exhaustion?

Stress, overwhelm, and physical discomfort can feel like they’re running your life - and we often think muscle tension, headaches, and exhaustion might just be your 'normal’...

But what if they didn’t have to be? 🤔

I hear this question A LOT:

“Can you help me with physical symptoms like muscle tension, headaches, and exhaustion, as well as emotional issues?”

It’s a question I understand deeply because I’ve been there myself.

I also know why this question comes up so often—because when you’re in physical pain, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to ignore.

You’re tired of feeling tired. 😩

You’ve probably tried other solutions, from medication to lifestyle changes, and yet nothing seems to get to the root of the problem. 😤

In this post, I’ll explain how Healing Sessions can help you address the physical pain you’re experiencing.

But we won’t stop there… ✨

….I’ll also show you how these sessions work on a deeper level, connecting physical relief with emotional and energetic healing.

So if you’re curious about how this works (and maybe a little skeptical), keep reading.

Yes, Healing Session can help pain, tension, and exhaustion.

Physical pain often has emotional roots, even if it doesn’t seem that way at first.

Muscle tension, headaches, and exhaustion can all be your body’s way of signaling that something deeper is happening.

When we suppress emotions like fear, anger, grief, or shame, they don’t just go away. They linger in the body, creating patterns of tension and discomfort.

Over time, these repressed emotions can lead to chronic pain, poor posture, shallow breathing, and a sense of being stuck.

The body becomes a messenger, asking for your attention. 🚨

It’s not just a random ache or pain—it’s your body’s way of saying, “👋 Hey, something needs to be understood here.”

When we’re under constant stress or holding onto unprocessed emotions, we stay in a heightened state of tension. This tension isn’t just experienced in your mind — it SHOWS UP in your body, creating patterns of discomfort.

Healing Sessions use somatic and energetic techniques to gently unwind these patterns, helping you release what’s been stuck for far too long.

Physical Pain & Emotional Roots: The Body Keeps Score

Physical pain and emotional pain are deeply intertwined, and understanding this connection is key to long-lasting relief. 🗣️

While it might seem like headaches, muscle tension, or exhaustion are purely physical issues, they’re often signals from the body pointing to unresolved emotional distress or trauma.

The Role of Repressed Emotions

When we experience emotions like fear, anger, sadness, or shame but don’t fully process them, those feelings don’t simply disappear.

Instead, they often get “stored” in the body.

This is especially true for emotions we suppress to function in our daily lives—perhaps you didn’t feel safe expressing anger, or you were told to “stay strong” in moments of grief.

Over time, this emotional suppression can create patterns of chronic tension and pain:

  • 😡 Muscle tension often arises from holding stress in the body. Think of how your shoulders rise and stiffen during a stressful day or how your jaw tightens when you’re angry but stay silent.

  • 🤕 Headaches can stem from overstimulation, stress, and unprocessed emotions creating tightness in the neck, shoulders, and head.

  • 😴 Exhaustion may result from emotional “overload,” as the body expends energy suppressing or managing feelings rather than releasing them.

These patterns don’t happen overnight. 🗓️

They build up gradually, creating a feedback loop where emotional and physical pain reinforce each other.

Chronic Stress and the Nervous System

Chronic stress is another major contributor to physical symptoms.

When you’re in a state of prolonged stress, your body activates its fight-or-flight response—a survival mechanism designed for short bursts of activity.

  • 🚨 Muscle tightness increases. Your body prepares to “fight” or “flee” by tensing up. Over time, this tightness becomes habitual.

  • 🚨 Shallow breathing becomes the norm. Stress often causes us to breathe shallowly, reducing oxygen flow and leaving us feeling fatigued and tense.

  • 🚨 The nervous system stays on high alert. Without moments of calm, the body remains in a state of hypervigilance, wearing down physical and emotional reserves.

When the body doesn’t have the opportunity to RESET to a calm baseline, this state of heightened stress creates physical symptoms like tension, headaches, and exhaustion.

The Body as a Messenger

One of the most powerful ideas in somatic and energetic work is that the body serves as a messenger

It doesn’t just randomly hurt; it’s trying to communicate with you.

When you experience physical symptoms, they’re often clues pointing to deeper emotional or energetic imbalances.

  • 💔 Back pain might be linked to feeling unsupported or burdened.

  • 💔 Tightness in the chest could reflect grief, sadness, or anxiety.

  • 💔 Stomach issues may be associated with worry, fear, or “gut feelings” that have gone unacknowledged.

These connections aren’t just metaphors—they’re rooted in how the brain and body communicate.

When you’re stressed, it contributes to tightness, shallow breathing, and even digestive upset.

Somatic Work Breaks the Cycle

Somatic work isn’t a quick fix—it’s a practice of reconnection and transformation.

By tuning into your body, releasing stuck energy, and reprogramming unhelpful patterns, you create a foundation for healing that goes beyond symptom management.

It empowers you to address the root causes of pain, fostering both immediate relief and sustainable well-being.

Many physical discomforts are deeply intertwined with how we process (or fail to process) our emotions and experiences. Somatic work bridges the gap between mind and body, providing a pathway to lasting relief and resilience

Tune Into Your Body

⛔ Modern life often teaches us to “push through” discomfort. Whether it’s stress, tension, or outright pain, we’re conditioned to ignore or suppress our body’s signals. Over time, this disconnection can worsen both physical and emotional symptoms, leaving us stuck in a cycle of tension and avoidance.

When you learn to tune in, you stop suppressing or ignoring your body’s messages. This awareness is the first step to releasing built-up tension and addressing the emotional roots of pain.

Release Stuck Energy

⛔ Emotional experiences don’t just vanish when we ignore them—they’re stored in the body. Stress, anger, grief, or fear can create physical blockages, manifesting as tight muscles, shallow breathing, or chronic pain. This “stuck energy” can feel like an emotional weight dragging you down, keeping you from feeling light, free, or truly alive.

Releasing stuck energy not only eases physical tension but also clears emotional blockages, leaving you feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to yourself.

Reprogram Patterns

⛔ Chronic pain and stress often come with learned patterns of tension, poor posture, shallow breathing, or emotional suppression. These habits are reinforced over time, keeping you stuck in a feedback loop that perpetuates discomfort.

These new patterns support long-term physical and emotional health. You feel more at ease in your body, respond to stress with resilience instead of rigidity, and experience less chronic tension or pain.

My Journey: Why I Believe in This Work

For years, I thought physical pain was just a physical problem. I believed it was something you treated with medicine, rest, or exercise. But then I faced my own health crisis.

I was dealing with migraines, nausea, and extreme fatigue—symptoms that became part of my daily life.

Eventually, a serious medical diagnosis forced me to confront what I had been ignoring: the connection between my emotional pain and physical symptoms.

After surgery and a long period of recovery, I had time to reflect.

I realized that my old ways of coping—pushing through, ignoring my emotions, and trying to appear “fine”—were breaking me down.

My physical pain wasn’t separate from my emotional pain. It was all connected.

That experience changed everything for me.

I began studying somatics, energetics, and the mind-body connection.

What I’ve learned (and lived) is now what I share with my clients: emotional healing and physical relief go hand in hand.

You Might Be Thinking...“You’re Not a Doctor, So How Can You Help?”

You might be thinking, “You’re not a doctor, so how can you help with something as serious as physical pain?”

You’re absolutely right—I’m not a doctor.

What I offer isn’t a replacement for medical care.

Instead, it complements traditional medicine by addressing emotional and energetic aspects that often get overlooked.

I encourage my clients to work with their healthcare providers for the physical side of healing.

My role is to help you process the emotional, somatic, and energetic layers that can contribute to physical pain.

Here’s the good news - science supports this approach:

  • 👩🏻‍🏫 Emotional stress leads to physical symptoms. Research links stress to headaches, digestive issues, and more.

  • 👩🏻‍🏫 Somatic practices reduce tension. Techniques like body scanning and breathwork are proven to calm the nervous system.

  • 👩🏻‍🏫 The vagus nerve connection. Studies show that calming the vagus nerve can relieve both emotional and physical discomfort.

I’ve seen it in my clients, too!

Why This Matters For You

When you work with me, we go beyond symptom management.

Together, we identify and release emotional patterns contributing to your physical pain, and use somatic techniques to relax your body and calm your nervous system.

We create space for deeper healing, so you can feel lighter, freer, and more alive.

The result?

Relief from muscle tension, headaches, and exhaustion—along with a greater sense of ease in your mind and body.
