By connecting and aligning your intentions with the universe, you can balance your energy + experience genuine, long-lasting inner peace.
Most of us seek this for the majority of our existence. Maybe, we’ve never been told how to do this or maybe it’s because it can be hard to find that sweet spot right in between the positive and negative energy that constantly swirls around us.
Some people may even mistake “seeking balance” for something being wrong on the inside. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Seeking your own slice of inner peace is normal, and you deserve it.
In fact, here are 6 powerful—yet simple practices you can try today (even if you’re totally a beginner):
1. Link yourself to the abundance of loving, free-flowing energy.
Everything we know in life and all that surrounds us is energy. It’s everywhere. With this energy all around us, we can deeply align with our truest selves (and our honest journey) while energizing our physical body with loving energy + the divine flow.
Try this quick and simple polarity meditation to get started:
Find a comfortable seated position with your legs crossed on the floor. Begin by placing your left hand on your knee with the palm facing up, and your right hand on the other knee with your palm facing down. This simple yet profound practice taps into the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), where the left side of the body represents the feminine, receptive energy (yin), and the right side symbolizes the masculine, giving energy (yang). By using your body to harmonize these energies, you can achieve a sense of connection and grounded equilibrium within yourself.
Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us that everything is a blend of yin and yang energies and achieving balance between these forces is key to overall well-being. Through connection with our breath, visualization, and movement, you can work towards aligning these energies within you.
The polarity meditation offers a gentle way to purify and harmonize your energy centers. This allows you to connect with the universal life force energy (qi) as you receive pure source with your left hand palm up, and release any stagnant energy with your right hand palm down.
As you embrace the concept of yin and yang within yourself, you embark on a journey of self-discovery and balance. This practice serves as a powerful tool to cleanse and align your energy centers, fostering a sense of peace and connection with the universal flow of life.

2. Purify your aura (or energy field).
Our auric field extends beyond our bodies and can overlap with the auric fields of humans, animals, and nature. It can also overlap with and touch the auric field of the devices we use, such as our phones and laptops. Our auric field can become weakened by pain, stress, fear, worry, anger, trauma, and the energy we pick up from others and our surroundings.
There are simple and playful practices we can use to cleanse and restore this part of our energy.
First and foremost, fresh air, hydration, sun exposure, and grounding by placing our feet on the earth can naturally replenish our auric field. Interacting with these elements with intention can make them more potent. For example, taking a walk in nature and breathing deeply with the intention of cleansing our energy can have a deeper impact.
The second practice I recommend playing with is sweeping the auric field.
This practice involves using your hands to brush through and clean your energy field, removing any stagnant or negative energy. Imagine sweeping away any heaviness or blockages, allowing fresh, vibrant energy to flow through you. This playful practice can help you feel lighter, more balanced, and connected to your inner energy source.

3. Release old, stagnant pain.
Ever catch yourself holding parts of your body through the pain? I’m talking about that pain that no matter how much you rub and knead, the pain is deep and it just doesn’t seem to want to go away. Could this pain you’re holding be trying to tell you something?
For this practice, I want you to imagine that pain coming straight out of your body:
Visualize the pain outside of you. What is it wearing? How does it look? What is it saying? Listen to the pain, and thank it for being there. Your pain is what helps you grow in strength and resilience, even through the hardships. Then picture it walking out of the room.
While this isn’t a clear-cut standard alternative to traditional healing, this practice can help you look at the pain differently. Look at it this way—you’re allowing yourself to have a new interaction with your pain and this can create space for fresh energy.

4. Protect your energy with an energetic shield.
Every time you connect + engage with others—you’re experiencing an exchange of energy. You might’ve noticed this if you’ve seen how contagious a mood is or how the people you spend your time with profoundly affect your thoughts and actions.
But what do you do when you have a negative experience during this exchange of energy? You work on protecting yourself from negative energy so you don’t have to feel the exchange as intensely in the future.
When it comes to safeguarding your energy, working with elements like wood, water, metal, earth, and light can be highly beneficial.
While bright white light is commonly used, it can be intense for some individuals. Shields can take various forms and sizes, such as extending from the neck down to ensure your heart is protected while still maintaining a connection with those around you. Additionally, adding different elements into your shield can provide a more personalized and effective protection method.
Another simple yet effective way to shield your energy is by considering the physical aspects of your environment. For instance, wearing a hat in public places can act as a subtle yet powerful barrier against external energies. This practice can help you maintain a sense of balance and protection, especially in crowded or energetically overwhelming settings. By being mindful of your surroundings and taking proactive steps to shield your energy, you can create a harmonious and secure energetic space for yourself.

There's no need for a specific routine. Instead, focus on stretching intuitively and moving your body gently to harness the power of balancing your energy. This practice can be a form of connecting with your inner child as sometimes feeling off-balance energetically stems from a part of us that is not being acknowledged or heard. By engaging in gentle movements and listening to what your body needs, you can create a harmonious flow of energy within yourself.
Allow yourself the freedom to move in a way that feels natural and authentic to you. Whether it's a simple stretch, a dance around the room, or a walk in nature, the key is to listen to your body's cues and respond with movements that bring you joy and vitality. Meditation, journaling with intention, silence—these practices are all wrapped into one as they involve you reflecting deeply on your personal thoughts, sitting with the uncomfortable, and then letting them go.
Journaling with intention involves focusing on your innermost motivations, breaking mind loops that have been bothering you, or setting pure intentions for your future.
Here are some prompts to help you start journaling with intention:
What emotions am I feeling at this moment, and what might be triggering them?
How can this pain or discomfort be an offering today?
What does this judgment protect me from knowing or experiencing?
What distractions prevent me from living intentionally? How can I overcome them?
What habits and practices can I adopt to support my future intentions?
Practicing silent minutes or hours can help you observe your thoughts without actually verbally responding to them.
Once you’ve relaxed both your body and mind, you set yourself up for even more success as you balance, realign, + reset.
Balancing Your Energy as You Enter New Seasons of Life
